Mauricio Sanders is a senior attorney in the Capital Markets and Securities Practice Group in the Mexico City office of Haynes and Boone, LLP. During his professional career, Mauricio has collaborated in different legal firms representing several Mexican banks and institutions in important infrastructure projects in Mexico.
During 2010 and 2011, Mauricio was part of the group of attorneys participating in a project for the Federal State of San Luis Potosí in Mexico named the "Aqueduct el Realito" (a US$214.8 million project under a 25-year contract for rendering services between a special purpose vehicle incorporated by ICA and FCC and the Local Water Commission of such state).
Mauricio's practice focuses on corporate law, banking law, contracts, civil law, project finance, mergers and acquisitions and e-commerce.
Mauricio is currently a professor of Negotiable Instruments and Credit Transactions at the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and he teaches different law courses at the Superior Institute of Interpreters and Translators.
Honors and Awards
Mauricio was awarded first of class during his law studies at UNAM with "Gabino Barreda" award and his thesis named "The Legal Regulation of the Commerce Agreements on Internet" obtained first place in the contest organized by the Public Notary College of Mexico City in 2000.

On August 27, 2009, several amendments to the Mexican Commercial Code were published in the Federal Official Gazette (“
DOF”), with the purpose of creating the Movable Guarantees Sole Registry (“
Registro Único de Garantías Mobiliarias,” hereinafter referred to as the “
RUG”), as a section of the Public Registry of Commerce dependent of the Ministry of Economy.
